Weekend Trip from Los Angeles

One of the easiest trips to make while visiting the Southern California area is a day trip to Los Angeles.  The City of Angels, as it is often referred to, was first founded by the original settlers in 1781 by the Spanish governor, Felipe de Neve.  Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood.

Throughout the ages, Los Angeles’ appeal has been the weather, the geography and in the last one hundred years, the entertainment capital of the world.

Los Angeles city is divided within 80 districts and neighborhoods, many of which were incorporated places or communities that merged into the city. These neighborhoods were developed piecemeal, and are well-defined enough that the city has signage marking nearly all of them.

To visit Los Angeles, designate a plan for your day trip. Will you be spending half day or do you just have the morning?  You can plan an adventurous day trip to Los Angeles that focuses on the gorgeous weather and locales. Hit all the beaches on a weekend or stroll through gardens and museums at University Park.  Visit the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, try the blueberry pancakes at the Farmers Market at the Grove or visit Dodger Stadium to root for the home team. The choices are endless.
